The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, SMEDAN has inaugurated the Conditional Grant Scheme of the Federal Government. At the inauguration in Abuja, the Director General of SMEDAN, Alhaji Umar Radda said the scheme seeks to promote the activities of micro enterprises across the country.
This he said would be done by providing the micro enterprises with entrepreneurship training, business name registration, micro insurance and micro financial grant of fifty thousand naira each.
Alhaji Umar Radda explained that it was to formalize the informal sector and make them easily targeted for government intervention.
Earlier, the Director, Special Duties of Smedan, Hajia Safuya Balla said the beneficiaries would open account with the partner bank.
In their good will messages, the Directors General of ITF, Abuja Enterprise Agency and National Association of Small Scale Industrialist commended the efforts made by government to support small and medium businesses to strive.
